Adopting a new and healthy lifestyle is a scary task to most Americans. As a country founded on the consumption of fast food and saturated fats, we consume more sugars, fats, and chemicals in our diets than any other country! If you’re one of the many American’s that have attempted to adopt a healthy lifestyle, you may have run into a very common problem. Many of us toss out our potato chips and sodas for celery sticks and water, only to find that we have still not lost any weight! While many factors have to be included when considering weight loss or management, most likely your problem is related to the source of even the healthiest of foods.

Toxin & Chemical Exposure in Foods

Exposure to dangerous chemicals and toxins commonly occur due to consumption of foods. Many fruit and vegetable farmers spray their crop with hazardous chemicals to keep them fresh longer and genetically modify them to withstand out of season weather. While these pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals help increase the amount time a product stays “fresh”, it does not benefit our intricate and complex body. Many scientists are now realizing that these sprays have other negative affects on our diet: they can seep into water sources and contaminate our drinking water!

Do you know what is in your food?

Look at your favorite sugary snack. Chances are you’ll find ingredients such as high fructose syrups, preservatives, and other ingredients you dare not attempt to pronounce! If you are not sure what ingredients make up your food, why ingest these dangerous unknown chemicals? The farther food is from it’s natural form, the more likely it is that it has lost its nutrient content, rendering it useless for your body’s function. Most fruit juices contain massive amounts of sugar, preservatives, and very little fruit juice itself. While many dieters believe that drinking these beverages is better than their usual soda, they’d be sadly mistaken. Most diet soda’s and fruit juices contain chemicals that make them worse for the body than the assumed “unhealthy” alternative. Don’t think that tidbit is your ticket to limitless soda consumption—soda’ s (including diet sodas) can contain sugars found to cause cancer and debilitating disease!

Changing our Mindset...

Our national mindset has created a chemical fog that contaminates the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the foods we eat. Adopting a new and healthy lifestyle means taking the time to integrate whole and organic foods into the diet, which promise unaltered and unprocessed ingredients. Only buy free range and grass fed products that promise low levels of toxins and try replacing artificially puffed and colored cereals with granolas or whole grains and oats. You will be amazed at how fast your weight loss regimen begins to work while these natural foods stimulate your immune and digestive function.
